Melissa's visit

On the morning of December 6th, Melissa from New Jersey visited our class, 8B. We had the opportunity to ask her various questions about America, high schools, and prom, and she answered all of them enthusiastically.

To make it more personal, Mrs. Doornbos split the class into five groups, giving each group the chance to talk to Melissa directly. Everyone asked at least three questions. Melissa was very friendly and easy to talk to, which made the experience even more enjoyable. She explained that the school system in America is very different from ours. For example, she mentioned that she hated the food at her school cafeteria and often ate cookies instead. In middle school, she took the bus, but in high school, she usually drove her car since you can get your driver’s license at 17 in America. She also told us about her after-school activities, such as participating in the marching band. At the end of the lesson, Melissa surprised everyone by giving us candy canes, which was a really kind gesture. It was such a fun and interesting experience to learn from her. I would love to have her visit us again to talk more because it was so much fun. Thank you, Melissa, for coming to our class and letting us ask so many questions! It was truly a wonderful experience, and we hope to see her again in the future.
